ESPN news: Two former Rams most valuable stars retires from football in a shocking way……
Michael Brockers has retired alongside former Rams colleague Aaron Donald.
Michael Brockers, a former defensive tackle with the Rams, announced his retirement on Instagram on Wednesday. Although Brockers last participated in six games with the Detroit Lions in 2022, he has officially declared that there would be no more comebacks. Brockers did not play in any games in 2023.
In the 2012 NFL Draft, Brockers was selected with the 14th overall choice out of LSU. He was a member of the defensive line group that included Bruce Irvin, Chandler Jones, and Fletcher Cox on the All-Rookie team. After the Rams selected Aaron Donald in the 2014 draft, Brockers’ contributions were both maximized and diminished. He recorded 9.5 sacks in his first two seasons, which was a rather good total at the time.
Before Brockers was moved to the Lions in 2021 for a seventh-round pick, the two played together for seven seasons. Although he participated in 16 games that season, he hasn’t been well for the past two.
Due to Jerry Jones’ desire for Morris Claiborne, the Rams traded down with the Cowboys for the sixth overall pick in 2012. On the second day, St. Louis was able to acquire Jackrabbit Jenkins and Trumaine Johnson, which reset the defense that would be centered around Donald for years to come. Because he didn’t make the Pro Bowl and wasn’t as effective as some elite defensive tackles, Brockers’ efforts will always be underappreciated, but he was an essential member of the Rams defense when the team turned things around in 2017 and went on to win the Super Bowl the following year. Being compared to Aaron Donald makes it difficult to stand out, but many players have also discovered that playing next to him makes it simpler to produce.

After 238 days of fury, the Rams’ post-Aaron Donald era will begin in Detroit. Publication of the 2024 calendar
This time, in Week 3, the opening game at SoFi Stadium will be against the San Francisco 49ers once again.
The phrase
It’s going to be an entertaining first week.”

About the Rams’ opening game in the 2024 season in a talk with NFL Network
First, the preliminary
Before heading to Detroit with revenge in mind, the Rams will host three exhibition games, the first two of which will take place at SoFi Stadium. The first game is scheduled for Sunday, August 11 at 1:25 PM PT against the Dallas Cowboys.
And the preseason will come to a finale on Saturday, August 24, when they travel to Houston to play against the rising Texans (10 am PT).
After that game, the Rams will have a week off before playing in their first NFL game of the 89th season.
