An NHL insider named David Pagnotta revealed a fictitious trade involving the Nashville Predators and the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Mitch Marner’s future is uncertain after the Boston Bruins eliminated the Maple Leafs from the Stanley Cup playoffs in the first round.
Marner’s contract expires in a year, and there have been rumors that he is involved in trade talks this summer. Toronto should try to deal the star forward to the Nashville Predators in exchange for goalie Juuse Saros, according to Pagnotta of The Fourth Period.
The Leafs won’t trade him for a package that includes future assets. Teams have already made some inroads if they follow this path, so it’s a talent-for-talent exchange. Fans have discussed trading Marner for Saros since the Maple Leafs need a goalie.
