ESPN report: Rams sign 7 of their 2024 NFL Draft to rookie-scale contracts.

Braden Fiske, NFL Prospect, on How to Get Paid As a College Athlete

Seven of the ten 2024 NFL Draft selections made by the Los Angeles Rams have signed rookie-scale contracts, the team announced.

Defensive tackle Braden Fiske, wide receiver Jordan Whittington, defensive tackle Tyler Davis, running back Blake Corum, kicker Joshua Karty, offensive lineman Beaux Limmer, and offensive lineman KT Leveston were the seven players who signed.

Defensive lineman Brennan Jackson, defensive back Kamren Kinchens, and defensive lineman Jared Verse are the three players who are still unsigned.

Players like Fiske were able to earn more guaranteed money than usual, but there isn’t much room for negotiation because rookie-scale contracts are related to selection position. Similar circumstances occurred in Los Angeles last year when they promised Steve Avila, an early second-round pick like Fiske, extra money.

Though Verse, Jackson, and Kinchens are not signed, a deal including the three rookies ought to be reached soon. The participants attended the Rams’ yearly rookie minicamp, which took place over the weekend.

Verse and Fiske are expected to start on Day 1 among the rookies chosen in this past draft; Corum, Kinchens, Jackson, and Davis will probably play rotating roles. Karty is expected to be the team’s kicker in 2024, but Limmer and Leveston will spend their first year growing behind the scenes.

The Rams sincerely hope that the current batch may have an influence comparable to that of the previous one. A number of Day One starters, including Puka Nacua, Byron Young, Kobie Turner, and Avila, are from L.A.’s 2023 draft class.

The Rams made sure to address their defensive line by allocating four of their ten selections to players in the trenches after Aaron Donald announced his retirement earlier in the offseason. In order to try to replicate Donald’s influence up front, general manager Les Snead and head coach Sean McVay have already acknowledged that Verse, Fiske, Jackson, and Davis have obvious paths to playing time.

It will be interesting to watch how this new bunch performs in 2024 and beyond because Los Angeles has established a reputation for being able to select and nurture players in every round of the selection.

Beaux Limmer describes getting drafted by the Rams as his ideal situation.
Beau Limmer was one of the Rams’ most underappreciated selections on the third day of the 2024 NFL Draft. Limmer was regarded as an early Day 3 pick after doing well on his tests at the NFL Combine.

In any case, Limmer considers being drafted by Los Angeles to be his best case scenario, so he isn’t concerned about falling through the ranks.

Our top five picks for primetime Rams games in 2024

In 2024, which Rams games would you like to see in prime time?

Sean McVay 'excited' to return as LA Rams head coach

The Los Angeles Rams played just one primetime game other than Thursday Night last season. That was a Monday Night Football game early in the season versus the Cincinnati Bengals. It wouldn’t be shocking if the Rams were back in primetime for three to five games in 2024 after making a comeback to the postseason and being viewed as a contender once more. These are the five primetime games that everyone would like to see.

1. Thanksgiving at the Detroit Lions
Thanksgiving was the Rams’ last Thanksgiving game, which took place against the Lions in 1975. Los Angeles built a 20-0 lead in the fourth quarter when a touchdown throw from James Harris to Harold Jackson ruined the Lions’ hopes of making the playoffs.

Given their recent history, there are strong feelings between these two sides, who met in the wild card round of the previous season. Thanksgiving game between the Rams and Lions in Detroit is a must. That might make your Thanksgiving less stress-free, but let’s hope Matthew Stafford throws for four touchdown passes and 375 yards to lead the Rams to an entertaining victory that can be enjoyed with stuffing and turkey. This would be a great year for the Rams to make a comeback to the Thanksgiving spotlight.

2. Sunday Night Football – @ Chicago Bears
There was a lot of conjecture around this time last year regarding the Rams’ potential to tank for Caleb Williams. Rather, Williams wound up in Chicago with the Bears, Matthew Stafford is still the quarterback despite having a fantastic season, and the Rams advanced to the postseason.

Since the game is being played in the Windy City, this would not be Williams’ return to Los Angeles. Even yet, facing an L.A. club would still be very exciting because of the star power involved, especially with Stafford facing Williams and both teams’ receiving groups. This matchup between two NFC playoff contenders may be thrilling and full of offensive plays. Please provide this game by mid-November.

3. Thursday Night Football versus the Miami Dolphins

Jalen Ramsey is expected to make his way back to Los Angeles following his trade to the Dolphins during the previous offseason. Even though there are no animosity between the two teams, a lot of attention should be paid to this game. When Ramsey does return to SoFi, he will undoubtedly receive a warm reception from the audience as he was a favorite.

Furthermore, this can turn out to be a very flashy game. Over the past few seasons, the Dolphins have boasted one of the NFL’s most exciting offenses. In addition, there’s the clear background and relationship between Sean McVay and Mike McDaniel. This has all the makings of a great Thursday night contest.

4. Monday Night Football against. San Francisco 49ers
We have to play a rivalry game, and the 49ers are the only team that makes sense. Surprisingly, the Rams were not awarded a primetime division game the previous season. That game might have been flexed if the Week 18 matchup had been more significant, but instead we got a contest between backups.

Although the 49ers have won this rivalry five straight seasons, these two teams will most likely face off for the NFC West championship. It wouldn’t be shocking to see a Monday Night Football game in the middle of the season with significant stakes.

5. Sunday Night Football versus. Green Bay Packers

The Rams will not be playing the Packers at Lambeau Field in Green Bay for what seems like an eternity. Rather, SoFi Stadium will host the game for the first time. At 1:05 PT on a sweltering Sunday afternoon in Los Angeles, with the Packers wearing their dark green jerseys, a selfish part of me wants this. After spending the last four seasons playing in the bitter cold in Green Bay, it just feels right.

Having said that, this game would make a lot of sense for Sunday Night Football in the middle of Weeks 12 or 13. It may also have playoff ramifications. One of the NFL’s better young quarterbacks, Jordan Love appears to be. Clearly, Matt LaFleur and Sean McVay are connected. The brothers are Mike and Matt LaFleur. Both clubs are expected to be postseason contenders, and there are other storylines involved.
