Injury update: Eagles favorite defensive lineman resume practice ready to participate on Sunday.

Eagles' star Jalen Carter punished by NFL after striking Commanders player

This is the Eagles’ most recent injury report following their practice on Thursday before their matchup with the Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX.

As the Eagles get ready to play the Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX, defensive lineman Jalen Carter participated fully in Thursday’s practice.

Carter’s sickness started the week as a limited participant, missing Wednesday and Thursday’s media sessions. However, he is reportedly improving and should participate on Sunday.

Carter was reported as full on Thursday following the Eagles’ practice at the New Orleans Saints’ facility, which is encouraging given the virus that has been circulating around the locker room this week.

On Thursday, only three Eagles were labeled as limited. This is the complete report:

Restricted: OL Nick Gates (groin), WR DeVonta Smith (hamstring), and DE Brandon Graham (elbow)

Complete: RB LB Zack Baun (groin), WR Britain Covey (neck), G Landon Dickerson (knee), TE Dallas Goedert (ankle), DT Jalen Carter (sickness), and Kenny Gainwell (concussion/knee) Cam Jurgens (back), TE CJ Uzomah (abdomen)

After starting the week as limited, running back Kenny Gainwell was also promoted to full participant, joining Carter. Gainwell has two weeks to recuperate from the concussion he sustained during the NFC Championship Game.

Smith’s hamstring ailment has been included on the injury report for a few weeks. Despite being sidelined for the first two days of this week, he is anticipated to participate in the year’s last game on Sunday.

Graham, 36, is still listed as limited as he recovers from surgery for a torn triceps. However, every indication still points to Graham playing in what may be his final NFL game. Graham will have to be activated to the 53-man roster by 4 p.m. on Saturday if he’s going to play.

Dickerson (knee) and Jurgens (back) were both full participants, which was fantastic news for the week’s first report. The Eagles will have a healthy starting offensive line for the Super Bowl since they were full again on Thursday.

Covey and Uzomah, like Graham, have been on IR and have been working out since their practice windows began. If the Eagles want to play on Sunday, they would need to activate them by Saturday afternoon.

On Thursday, Gates (groin) was added to the list of injuries. He hasn’t played in this year’s first three postseason games. In order to clear a position on the roster for Sunday, he may be a contender to go on IR.

The Chiefs’ injury report for Thursday is as follows: QB Patrick Mahomes (ankle), OT Jawaan Taylor (knee), P Matt Araiza (illness), and wide receiver Skyy Moore (abdomen) are all full. Moore is the only Chiefs player listed as limited; he has been on injured leave since October, but the Chiefs activated his practice window last week.
