ESPN: Yankees’ Most Recent High-profile Addition Has Admitted Honestly That He Would Like to Join Forces with Aaron Judge.
After the New York Yankees fell to the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series, they lost one of their greatest players when Juan Soto joined the New York Mets for the summer.
In response, the Yankees signed outfielder Cody Bellinger from the Chicago Cubs, bullpen pitcher Devin Williams from the Milwaukee Brewers, and starting pitcher Max Fried from the Atlanta Braves as crucial players for 2025.
Paul Goldschmidt of the St. Louis Cardinals was the Yankees’ most recent high-profile addition, and the first baseman shared his views about joining the historic team.
According to Goldschmidt, who talked to YES Network, “all the players that have played there spoke very highly about everyone in the organization, the city, and the fan base.”
Prior to spending the last six seasons with the Cardinals, Goldschmidt, a 14-year MLB veteran, spent eight seasons with the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2011.
Goldschmidt batted and participated in 154 games in 2024.245 with a.716 OPS, 65 RBIs, and 22 home homers.
As the Yankees attempt to return to the World Series, the seven-time All-Star and 2022 NL MVP will provide a seasoned presence in their infield.
Throughout his MLB career, Goldschmidt has hit double-digit home runs in all but two of them (as a rookie in 2011 and in the truncated 2020 campaign).
This offseason, the Yankees’ roster is starting to take shape, and they appear ready for another postseason push in 2025.
