Sadly: Legendary rock band’s star who is still serving a jail term, passed away in the early hours of the day.
The late musician, “I like to have bottled attention and discipline,” said. “Get the damn thing done, and then you can mess around”
As a member of The Rolling Stones, Jeff Beck was unable to find fulfillment.
Beck, who passed away in 2023, stated that he didn’t fit in with the legendary rock band’s work approach in an unearthed 2011 interview with Loudersound.
After guitarist Mick Taylor quit The Rolling Stones in 1974, Beck made an effort to join the group. I informed them I don’t participate in auditions. I also wouldn’t have been accepted. I never regretted anything.
“I didn’t want to spend my life playing ‘Brown Sugar,'” he said. “With Mick Taylor, I believe they had likely produced their finest albums by that point. He provided them with a lot. A large, ancient badge of sound.
Additionally, Beck claimed that their rehearsal technique was ineffective for him, particularly with regard to the frontman. Recalling, “I couldn’t deal with their looseness,” “I was rehearsing [with the Stones] and I hardly ever saw Mick Jagger.”
“Someone else f—ed off when he finally showed up. They’re asking if we should travel to Barbados or Las Vegas while I’m there for work. No! I prefer to have discipline and attention in bottles.
“Get the damn thing done,” Beck went on, “and then you can mess around,” describing it as “crazy.” That year, Beck ended up recording Blow By Blow, his debut solo album, which was released in 1975.

Keith Richards discussed the reports about Beck’s attempt to join the Stones in 2023. Richards, 80, told Guitar Player, “We felt that Jeff had his own furrow to plow and that he was not a team man.”
“He was an extreme soloist. What an individualist he was. With the Stones, it would have been completely ineffective. He went on to say, “We’re all about teamwork,” highlighting Beck’s skill even if he didn’t fit in with the Stones.
Don’t get me wrong, though; he was an amazing player. The things he performed with his tremolo bar always astounded me during our strange get-togethers. Man, he was one of the greatest, and we will miss him.
On X (formerly Twitter), Jagger, 81, paid respect to the deceased guitarist who appeared on his debut solo album, She’s the Boss, released in 1985.
In addition to being one of the world’s best guitarists, Jeff Beck was a beautiful man who passed away. He will be greatly missed by all of us.
