CBS Sports: Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts makes a defiant decision after been fined by the NFL.
Hurts received a citation for wearing two different colored cleats the previous week.
When Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts arrived to the team’s game against the Washington Commanders on Sunday, it appeared like he was making a message to the NFL.
Hurts received a $5,628 punishment this week for wearing two different colored cleats during the game on Sunday. His right foot was wearing an Eagles-colored cleat, but his left foot was wearing a brighter “Kelly Green” cleat. It seems that the NFL decided that the left cleat was “not one of the Eagles’ constitutional team colors.”
Hurts arrived at Northwest Stadium wearing a two-color suit, continuing the “two different colors” theme. The right part of his clothing was black, while the left half was gray. The legs of the pants were even the opposite color since the color difference was divided in half.
Given that the fine was imposed this week, this was most definitely no coincidence. Since the Jordan company was the one marketing the dual-color cleats, they ultimately had to pay Hurts’ penalties.
