CBS Sports: The Cowboys have announced troubling Diggs move including 5 roster changes.
Trevon Diggs’ season officially ends on Saturday, but he still has a difficult road to recovery in time for 2025. In the meantime, friend Micah Parsons is working to help the Dallas Cowboys recover. Due to his severe—some say “ominous”—knee injury that necessitates bone graft surgery, Dallas has formally placed Diggs on the Reserve/Injured list.and CB Andrew Booth has been added to the team’s active roster.
For the game against Tampa Bay tomorrow night, Dallas also promoted linebacker Darius Harris and center Dakoda Shepley from the practice squad. In the meanwhile, he has set his own ambitions until the end of the 2024 season.
He won’t let a flu virus to interfere with any of it, isn’t he? To the surprise—or maybe shock?—of many in Cowboys Nation, Micah’s name appears on the official injury report that the Cowboys issued on Friday in advance of the Tampa Bay Bucs’ “Sunday Night Football” visit. Due to an illness, Parsons is officially labeled as doubtful for Sunday’s game at AT&T Stadium.
As Dallas struggles through a season with players like Dak Prescott, Zack Martin, Trevon Diggs, and perhaps DeMarcus Lawrence out for the season, should the news be particularly worrisome? The Cowboys aren’t hitting the panic button, so probably not. In fact, Cowboys COO Stephen Jones gave an update on Parsons’ condition on 105.3 The Fan after the injury news was made public.
“If Micah doesn’t show up, I’d be shocked. “He should be okay, but you never know with these flu bugs,” Jones added. “Questionable” typically implies the player plays, which is important for Dallas because Parsons has collected 32 tackles, 8.5 sacks, and a forced fumble this season despite his own injury problems. Even though it’s doubtful, Micah wants to try to make the playoffs. One more? Parsons would become only the sixth player in NFL history to record double-digit sacks in each of his first four seasons in the league, adding another 1.5 in the last three games.
But no matter what he does now, he will have to live without his friend Diggs.
