Former members of the renowned rock group Emerson, Lake, and Palmer (ELP) confirmed the death of Keith Emerson, their co-founder and keyboardist, at the age of 71.

“We regret to inform you that Keith Emerson passed away last night at his home in Santa Monica, Los Angeles,” the group’s official Facebook page said.

Santa Monica police claim that he shot himself in the head to end his life.

“I was deeply touched to learn that my good friend and brother in music has passed away,” stated Carl Palmer. Keith was a kind person whose enthusiasm for playing the keyboard and love of music can never be surpassed. Telegrafi writes, “I will never forget his kind smile, his sense of humor, and his commitment to music.”

Emerson was well-known for his distinctive live performances, which were influenced by Jimi Hendrix’s dramatic guitar performances.

“It’s natural, something that makes me more expressive,” he previously stated.

ELP was a global phenomenon. Several of their albums, such as “Braid Salad Surgery,” “Trilogy,” and “Tarkus,” have placed among the top five in Britain.

Prior to the formation of ELP in 1967 and its dissolution three years later, Emerson, who was born in Yorkshire in 1944, was a member of The Nice. He pursued a solo career following the dissolution of ELP. His final performance took place in London in July 2015.

Dream Theater and Iron Maiden are only two of the many outstanding bands that have been influenced by ELP. Nine studio albums, seventeen live albums, thirteen compilations, and thirteen singles have all been recorded by this trio. that every studio album was a masterpiece. Telegraph
