Ohio State Wide Receiver Kyion Grayes Enters the Transfer Portal After Two  Seasons With the Buckeyes | Eleven Warriors

Through the Transfer Portal, the California Golden Bears add a former Top 100 recruit. Kyion Grayes, a sophomore from Ohio State, committed to Cal on Sunday after using the Transfer Portal on Tuesday.

On Sunday morning, Kyion Grayes, a 4-Star wide receiver recruit and former Ohio State Buckeye, revealed his commitment to Cal. 247Sports first the story of the development on Saturday.

Grayes attended Ohio State for two seasons. In 2022, he took a redshirt; in 2023, ailments kept him from playing. During his tenure with the Buckeyes, he caught a total of one pass.

Grayes made his choice in a just five days after logging into the Portal on April 30. With three more seasons of eligibility remaining, he transfers to Cal.

The 6-foot and 187-pound wide out was ranked No. 63 overall and No. 8 among wide receiver prospects in the 2022 class by 247Sports. He was rated 96 by 247Sports.

With Grayes joining the team, Cal’s wide receiver Transfer Portal offseason will be even busier. In time for spring, the Golden Bears added Cole Boscia (Colorado), Jonathan Brady (NMSU), Mikey Matthews (Utah), and Tobias Merriweather (Notre Dame). Cal needs to graduate Monroe Young and replace Jeremiah Hunter, who is being transferred to Washington. After spring camp, Marquez Dortch also left for the Transfer Portal.

Following the conclusion of spring practice, Cal has added defensive backs Jasiah Wagoner (Oklahoma), Ryan Yaites (LSU), Deamontae Diggs (Youngstown State) at outside linebacker, Braden Miller (Michigan State) at offensive lineman, T.J. Bollers (Wisconsin) at defensive lineman, and Corey Dyches (Maryland) at tight end. During camp, Cal also added Princeton’s Liam Johnson as an inside linebacker. Teddye Buchanan, a transfer from UC Davis who committed before spring, will also join the squad this summer as an inside linebacker.

Defensive lineman Tiumalu Afalava, defensive back Kaylin Moore, offensive lineman Martin Tine, tight end/wide receiver Marquis Montgomery, offensive lineman Ender Aguilar, and cornerback Collin Gamble are among the other Cal players who have left via the Portal since spring camp ended. Myles Jernigan, an outside linebacker who committed to Louisville, also used the Portal during spring training.

A timetable of starting activities was not halted by the incident on Sunday.

According to school officials, a person passed away at Sunday’s Ohio State University graduation ceremony in Columbus after falling from observation stands to the ground.

An investigation was underway into the incident. The deceased’s identification was not available.
