Lions film review: Graham Glasgow played his worst game in Week 15

Everywhere on the Detroit Lions, injuries are a problem. Additionally, the starting veteran offensive linemen were back at practice to close out the week in Allen Park, despite the fact that they are dealing with late-season issues.

The only active player not present at Friday’s practice was running back David Montgomery. Montgomery is dealing with a knee injury. But he could return for the postseason, with the Lions deciding to put him on injured reserve or not.

It’s encouraging going into the weekend trip to Chicago since both guard Graham Glasgow (knee) and center Frank Ragnow (rest/back) returned to the field during the open portion of practice for media. Neither had practiced this week.

Frank Ragnow injury history: Complete timeline and recoveries

Glasgow was a bit hurt after losing to the Buffalo Bills last week. Although Ragnow is accustomed to taking days off during this time of year, his back problem was mentioned in Thursday’s practice report.

When the official report is released, Dan Campbell may be listed as a restricted participant because he stated that he didn’t anticipate Glasgow practicing at the conclusion of the week. We’ll see, though, since the seasoned guard was outside with his colleagues.

This week saw the return to practice of linebacker Jalen Reeves-Maybin (neck) and defensive back Ifeatu Melifonwu (ankle/finger). The Lions don’t anticipate either of them playing this weekend since they are still in the early stages of their 21-day comeback periods.

Although Reeves-Maybin’s rehabilitation is encouraging, Campbell stated that “I don’t see him playing this week.” For Melifonwu, the head coach sounded the same, albeit a little more upbeat from a short-term standpoint.

“Yes, a lot of this was about getting him comfortable this week and getting his legs back under him,” Campbell remarked. We’re not closed to it, and neither am I. I’m just going to go out there and practice today, and we’re working him on some things to see where he’s at. He’s been getting a little better every day. However, it’s fantastic to have him back and to see him working the job, so that’s a positive thing.
