CBS Sports: The Dallas Cowboys add a well-known player to increase the depth of their defensive line.
After being cut during the final roster cuts, a well-known figure is making a comeback to the Dallas Cowboys.
The Dallas Cowboys are bringing back a familiar face for the latter stretch of the 2024 NFL regular season as injuries keep piling up.
The Cowboys are strengthening the interior defensive line with Justin Rogers, even though Osa Odighizuwa has been one of the finest in the league and Mazi Smith, a former first-round selection, has been becoming much better.
In the seventh round of the 2024 NFL Draft, the Cowboys picked Rogers.
DallasCowboys.com’s Patrik Walker broke the story first.
Rogers was released by the Cowboys on August 26 when the club completed its last roster cuts on route to the final 53-man players to start the season. Rogers joined the Cincinnati Bengals practice squad three days later.
Rogers is now back with the team that picked him with three games left in the regular season.
Rogers may get playing time in the upcoming weeks since it’s noteworthy to note that he was signed to the 53-man roster, not the practice squad.
The Cowboys’ next game is a Sunday Night Football primetime matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
