ESPN: The NFL Made a Very Important Josh Allen Announcement After His Viral Performance.
On Sunday, the Buffalo Bills will travel to play the Los Angeles Rams in an attempt to win their eighth consecutive game. Josh Allen, the quarterback and one of the leading candidates for league MVP, has been instrumental in the Bills’ success in the AFC. When he became the first player in league history to score a throwing, rushing, and receiving touchdown in the same game in Week 13, his campaign continued.
Allen’s outstanding effort earned him the title of AFC Offensive Player of the Week on Wednesday. He has achieved the award for the second time this season and for the fourteenth time in his career. Allen’s performance on Sunday was significant in Bills history as well because, with 248 career touchdowns, he eclipsed Hall of Famer Jim Kelly to become Buffalo’s all-time leader. Coach Sean McDermott praised Allen on his remarkable achievement after the game.
“What an accomplishment,” Sean McDermott, the head coach, remarked. “A better person couldn’t have experienced this. I’m very delighted for him, his off-field endeavors, his ongoing development, and the start of this new chapter in his life. I’m really proud of him, amazed, and enjoying seeing him develop throughout the years.” Even while winning offensive player of the week and perhaps winning MVP are admirable additions to Allen’s CV, his main goal is probably to win a Super Bowl for Buffalo for the first time.
