Zonovan Knight broke an all-time NY Jets record in NFL debut

Following the publication of a devastating exposé from The Athletic last week, NY Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers attempted to correct the record during his weekly visit on The Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday.

He has no intention of being placed on the injured reserve, Rodgers confirmed, stating that he will not “go on IR without an injury.” He then refuted a story that the four-time MVP had refused medical tests, which was reported by Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

According to Rodgers, he has a “great relationship” with the Jets’ training staff and has never refused medical tests. He asserts that he was aware of the “exact nature” of the hamstring injury he sustained against the Denver Broncos in Week 4.

Every fresh report about him is still refuted by the future Hall of Famer. In the end, it is up to the individual whether or not his statements should be believed. Perhaps all of the reports are false or deceptive, or perhaps Rodgers isn’t telling the truth.

Zonovan Knight - New York Jets Running Back - ESPN

Zonovan Knight joins the Jets’ practice squad.
On Tuesday, interim general manager Phil Savage added two players to the Jets’ practice squad in his first actions as general manager. The Jets released offensive lineman Zack Bailey and added running back Zonovan Knight and wide receiver Easop Winston Jr. to their practice squad.

Since the former NC State star joined the Jets as an undrafted free agency in 2022, Jets supporters should be extremely familiar with Knight’s name. Knight, who goes by “Bam,” had a promising first season with the Jets, setting a franchise-high 103 yards from scrimmage in his NFL debut.

Knight was somewhat unexpectedly discarded as part of the final roster cuts the following summer after rushing for 300 yards and a score on 85 touches as a rookie. He would shortly join the Detroit Lions, where he played in two games before sustaining a shoulder injury that ended his season.

Knight was cut loose by the Lions this summer and is now back with the Jets. He is another running back on the Jets’ practice squad, joining Kene Nwangwu.

Tim Boyle will inevitably

Tim Boyle, a former quarterback for the Jets, nevertheless manages to keep his job in the NFL. Boyle has made it onto another 53-man roster in spite of his terrible record.

Only a few weeks after being cut loose by the Miami Dolphins, Boyle was added to the New York Giants practice squad last week. After Daniel Jones was demoted, he was added to the Giants’ active roster four days later.

Boyle may play as the backup quarterback on Thursday when the Giants play the Dallas Cowboys since Tommy DeVito is suffering with a forearm issue. The only other quarterback on the team’s deal is Drew Lock.
