CBS Sports: Franchise quarterback is being connected to the Buffalo Bills in an attempt to bolster their Super Bowl hopes.
Which team will sign Daniel Jones? Several teams are vying for the former No. 6 overall selection, despite the New York Giants’ refusal to sign their former franchise quarterback. How about the Buffalo Bills, though?
The 49ers, Ravens, Vikings, and other teams have all been mentioned as potential suitors for the former first-round selection thus far. The fact that the 27-year-old quarterback rejected the Raiders makes it very clear that rumors that he wants to sign with a contender are accurate. But which will he choose? Is Jones able to sign with the Bills?
Daniel Jones is linked to the Buffalo Bills according to recent speculations.
A really good backup quarterback who can move the chains with his arm or legs might be useful to several NFL contenders. Daniel Jones is expected to select one of them in the coming days.
The former Giants quarterback has frequently been linked to the Ravens or Vikings, but according to an NFL insider, the Buffalo Bills are the best fit for the best free agency quarterback available.
Buffalo seems to make the most sense to me. He won’t have to play, and there is some familiarity with the scheme. Additionally, his greatest work and what Josh Allen contributes each week share some stylistic parallels (I’m not claiming Jones is Allen; he’s obviously not). It, in my opinion, would create a positive learning atmosphere and a seamless transfer.
The fact that Giants coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen are from the Buffalo Bills organization is an extra perk that Breer left out. Current Bills players may readily contact Schoen or Daboll with any issues they may have regarding his character, work ethic, or fit in the locker room.
Even if things didn’t work out in East Rutherford, there aren’t any resentments, especially because they politely let him get employment right away rather than making him wait until 2025.
