A $100,000 fine was imposed on the San Francisco 49ers for an inactive player’s involvement in a sideline altercation.

The aforementioned action took place during the third quarter of San Francisco’s game against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. At the conclusion of a play, Niners cornerback Charvarius Ward reportedly scuffled with Arizona tight end Trey McBride close to the sideline.

Ward reached for his face mask as McBride stopped him from entering the San Francisco bench area. The 49ers’ Dre Greenlaw, who is listed as physically incapable of playing, then approached and forced McBride away from Ward.

The three players received fines on Saturday, but no penalties were called during the play. Greenlaw was penalized $14,069 for needless roughness, Ward was fined $11,255 for the face mask, and McBride was deducted $9,545 for the same offense.
