CBS Sports: The incredible Aaron Rodgers of the Jets has announced his departure following a heated altercation with head coach Robert Saleh.

Following the Jets’ extremely depressing loss to the Broncos on Sunday, a former Gang Green quarterback thinks there’s a problem between head coach Robert Saleh and Aaron Rodgers.

The Jets returned to earth in Week 3 after a commanding home victory over the Patriots, losing 10-9 to Denver and failing to score a touchdown in front of their home crowd.

Boomer Esiason, a radio presenter who was a Jets player from 1993 to 1995, has now asserted that there is a “serious problem” between the team’s coach and quarterback.

I try to keep an eye out for any sideline exchanges between Rodgers and Saleh, but I never see anything. He said, “I see a guy walking right past another guy,” on the Boomer and Gio program on WFAN.

“Those were the days I had with two coaches in particular, and it was because I didn’t like or trust them.” It annoyed me that I had no idea what he was doing. And back then, it was evident from my body language that I was pissed off.

And there is a serious problem when I see Aaron Rodgers in the postgame press conference following the game and on the sidelines. There’s a problem there, but both will deny it, I promise. And the reason for that is that, in my opinion, this 40-year-old Hall of Fame quarterback doesn’t respect the coach.

Esiason’s remarks followed Rodgers’ difficult response to Saleh’s remarks on the team’s pre-snap cadences during the postgame press conference.

Saleh questioned whether his club was “good enough” to handle the current pre-snap cadence after the Jets had five false starts against Denver. However, Rodgers seems to disagree with the notion that it should be “dialed back.”

That’s a possible approach. Holding them responsible is the alternative, he stated. ‘Until now, we haven’t had any problems.’

Additionally, following the Jets’ victory over the Patriots in Week 3, Rodgers and Saleh appeared to have a heated conversation on the sidelines. Many fans thought the quarterback advised his coach it was “too early” to get too enthused after he gave Saleh a light shove.

After the game, Rodgers attempted to downplay the event, claiming that it “wasn’t awkward at all” and that he had actually stated “two-score lead,” which is reportedly a regular refrain of Saleh’s.

But the head coach’s background is still a mystery. Despite Rodgers’ ruptured Achilles last season, which hindered the Jets, Saleh is just 20-35 in New York.
