CeeDee Lamb was penalized by the NFL for an illegal hit that occurred during the Cowboys’ Week Three game against the Ravens, even though he did not draw a flag.

This season, the NFL is keeping up its assault on offensive players who droop their heads to make contact. When Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco collided helmet-first with Baltimore Ravens defenders in Week One, he was fined $5,582 for needless roughness. Although authorities did not flag Pacheco on the play, the league punished him. CeeDee Lamb, a wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys, is the most recent player to receive a fine for needless roughness.
