CBS Sports: Raiders’ sensational All-Pro NFL receiver is out of the game in Week 4 following an injury sustained during practice.
Due to an injury sustained on the practice field, wide receiver Davante Adams of the Las Vegas Raiders will not play against the Cleveland Browns in Week 4.
In the last moments of the Raiders’ practice on Thursday, Adams came up lame, holding his hamstring, according to league sources that spoke with ESPN.
The team decided to rule out receiver Adams on Friday without trying to make up an explanation or act as though he could play on Sunday.
Overall, nobody has to be Davante Adams, according to Raiders coach Antonio Pierce’s statement on Friday. I don’t require a second Davante. Surely there is only one? All I need is the best Jakobi Meyers.
“We feel really good about giving these guys the last 12 hours and today and tomorrow to get ready for the game, but we’ll see what happens come Sunday.”
The Raiders were already experiencing a turbulent week prior to Adams’ hamstring injury. It started with a quarterback switch following a Week 3 loss to the Carolina Panthers.
Maxx Crosby, a defensive end for the Pro Bowl who sprained his right ankle against Baltimore in Week 2 and attempted to play through it last week, was also lost by Las Vegas due to the injury.
Fans conjectured that the receiver might be dealt out of Sin City after Pierce stated that the Raiders were making some “business decisions” before to Adams and Crosby’s injuries.
“It’s true that some people made business decisions, and we will continue to make business decisions,” Pierce stated.
Still, rumors have said that the Raiders turned down other teams’ offers for Adams. According to the sources, Las Vegas rejected at least two teams before accepting an offer for Adams and thought that a deal would not happen.
After three games, Adams has 18 receptions for 209 yards and a touchdown, but the Raiders are losing. When he played for the Green Bay Packers in 2021, he was the last to miss a game.
