Steelers elevate 2 from practice squad

For their game against the Los Angeles Chargers, the Pittsburgh Steelers have added adaptable offensive lineman John Leglue from the practice squad to the active roster. This action follows offensive tackle Troy Fautanu’s placement on injured reserve following his withdrawal from Friday’s practice due to a knee issue.

Fautanu is predicted to miss the majority of the season, if not all of it. With Dylan Cook, the fourth tackle, out due to a serious foot injury, the Steelers may turn to Leglue to fill in for him at that position. Should Leglue prove to be merely a stopgap, the Steelers may attempt to add an outside player.

Leglue, who participated in Arthur Smith’s scheme in Atlanta the previous season, signed a contract with the Steelers following cutdown day. If necessary, he could fill in at any of the five offensive line positions.

Spencer Anderson can play left or right tackle, but the Steelers only have two real tackles on their roster. Due to Isaac Seumalo’s pectoral injury, he is starting at left guard.
