CBS Sport: Eagles star player will miss game against Atlanta Falcons due to hamstring injury.
Due to a hamstring injury, wide receiver A.J. Brown of the Philadelphia Eagles will not participate in Monday’s home game versus Atlanta.
Brown was included on the injury report on Friday. In the first game against Green Bay, Brown caught five catches for 119 yards and a touchdown. Brown “got a little tight in practice,” according to Eagles coach Nick Sirianni, but he did not elaborate.
Brown has 106 receptions for 1,456 yards and seven scores with the Eagles the previous season. He has been one of the NFL’s best receivers since joining the Tennessee Titans in his rookie campaign in 2019.
Brown agreed to a three-year contract extension in April, with a guaranteed $84 million.
During the 2022 NFL Draft, Brown was acquired by the Eagles from the Tennessee Titans in exchange for a $100 million, four-year contract.
Brown’s absence means that in the game against the Falcons, Jalen Hurts will be depending more on wide outs DeVonta Smith and Jahan Dotson in addition to return specialist Britain Covey.
