Shedeur Sanders, Travis Hunter shine as Colorado barely gets by North Dakota State in season opener | Fox News

Shedeur Sanders has the ability to lead the Dallas Cowboys, even though Dak Prescott, is still the team’s starting quarterback. However, Mike Tannenbaum, the former general manager of the New York Jets, believes that Sanders taking over as the starting quarterback might only occur the next season.

The Colorado Buffaloes’ outstanding quarterback Shedeur Sanders is becoming known as one of the top prospects for the 2025 NFL Draft. After spending two productive years at Jackson State under his father, Deion Sanders, Sanders, who stands 6’1′′ and weighs 198 pounds, made waves in his first season in the FBS.

He threw for over 1,250 yards and nearly 80% completion percentage in just his first three outings. Though there were moments of exceptional play, the squad struggled as a whole and ended with a dismal 1-8 record.

The Buffaloes have updated their offensive scheme in anticipation of the 2024 campaign in an effort to maximize Sanders’ potential. The recruiting of seasoned coaches and strengthening the offensive line—which finished last season among the poorest in NCAA football—are two of the changes. The goal of this new strategy is to produce a more balanced attack so that Sanders may further demonstrate his abilities.

Despite the fact that Sanders hasn’t yet participated in an NFL game, many observers are encouraged by his current form and his potential. Mike Tannenbaum, a former general manager of the New York Jets, even asserted in a video posted on X that Sanders is capable of taking Prescott’s spot.

Despite being one of the most harassed quarterbacks in the FBS at the end of the previous season, Sanders showed remarkable accuracy and playmaking abilities. Even though his arm strength isn’t particularly strong, he stands out for his ability to make throws while moving and from different angles. Even though Prescott is the more accomplished quarterback, it’s possible that he has hit his limit playing for the Cowboys.
