Breaking news: Philadelphia Eagles’ sensational RB signed a blockbuster deal with Steelers on cut day.
Several rumors state that the Pittsburgh Steelers are adding former Philadelphia Eagles running back Boston Scott to their practice squad. Scott was released by the Los Angeles Rams and will now report to the practice squad. After departing Philadelphia in free agency, he signed a one-year contract with the Rams, but he was unable to get into their running back rotation.
Scott was a Louisiana Tech player who was selected by the New Orleans Saints in the sixth round of the 2018 NFL Draft. He did not, however, make the Saints’ 53-man roster and was instead kept on the practice squad. At that point in his career, Scott was picked up by the Eagles, and he has developed into a valuable asset both in and out of the backfield.
In addition to 566 receiving yards, he has 1295 rushing yards. In addition, Scott had 17 touchdowns overall and 1547 return yards. Having played in the NFL for six seasons, Scott is a talented veteran who the Steelers can rely on to make an impact off the practice squad should someone be hurt in the running back group.
Although Scott, 29, is only 5 feet 6 inches tall, his quickness and agility have allowed him to stay in the NFL when most others would not. The Steelers released Aaron Shampflin, La’Mical Perine, and Jonathan Ward. It’s possible that one of those guys will return to the team and join Scott on the practice squad.
