This season, Joan Tittle, a devoted fan of Lincoln Financial Field, will be missed, but her family will always carry on the Philly Pride of her beloved team.

An Eagles announcer remarked, “Please join us in welcoming Joan Tittle,” with her face displayed on the big screen. “An Eagles season ticket holder since 1958.”

Joan was an Eagles superfan, if you will. George Tittle, Joan’s spouse of sixty years, stated that part of the reason she became an Eagles fan was to pay tribute to her father, who took her to her first game 66 years earlier.

“To this day, it is a part of her relationship with her family,” George stated.

According to her family, she continued the custom by taking her son Terrence to his first Eagles game. Terrence recalled his mother’s expression when they watched the Eagles win Super Bowl LII together.

Terrence remarked, “I think it was emotional for her.” “She didn’t say a lot, but I felt that she was excited.”

Even Joan’s other admirers had strong feelings for her. According to Joan’s relatives, she has only missed one home game in her 66 years because of a flight problem. However, Terrence revealed in her later years how challenging it had been for her to reach to her preferred spot in the stadium.

“Somebody that sat on the end seat, on either side of the section, would get up and sit on the steps and offer my mom their seat so she could sit there, get her wind back together,” recalled Terrence.

According to Artis Hall, a friend of Joan’s, the team helped her when she was unable to climb the stairs.

“When she couldn’t get up the ramp anymore, they would come down and get her when she got there, come down and carry her up the ramp to her seat,” Hall recalled.

The Eagles gave a commemorative ball to the family in honor of Joan. It said, “In loving memory of Joan ‘YA’ Tittle, forever an Eagle.” She got that moniker because she had the same last name as the late great Y.A. Tittle of the NFL, even though they were unrelated.

Joan’s commitment to the squad is unrivaled, according to Hall.

“You might be a fan, but nobody is a bigger fan than Joan Tittle,” Hall stated.

On Friday, August 9, Joan passed away at the age of 88. This Saturday is her funeral. You’re invited, fellow enthusiasts. Joan had one final request: that everyone wearing Eagles Green attend her burial.
