Breaking: Alabama GM Courtney Morgan has agreed to terms on a historic new contract.
A historic new agreement between Alabama and standout general manager Courtney Morgan will act as a market resetter for those in the college front office and personnel department.
Morgan and the Crimson Tide have reached an agreement on a new three-year contract that will likely pay him approximately $825,000 annually, sources tell CBS Sports and 247Sports.
Morgan was being courted by USC for a position as president of football, but he chose to stick with Alabama and Kalen Deboer. Morgan’s help has allowed the Crimson Tide to rank second in the 247Sports team rankings for their 2025 recruiting class. Morgan was DeBoer’s general manager at Washington the previous season, when he assisted the Huskies in making it to the national championship game. Prior to Washington, Morgan was employed at his alma mater, Michigan, and under DeBoer at Fresno State.
DeBoer remarked, “Courtney is such an important part of our program,” after Morgan was hired by Alabama. “He is crucial to our efforts to find and assess talent in high schools and through the transfer portal because of his excellent relationships throughout the nation. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to welcome Courtney to Tuscaloosa since he is a key component of our goals at Alabama.”
