Breaking: Steelers key player ruled out for the rest of the season due to injury.

Nate Herbig

Following their 9-3 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Saturday, the Pittsburgh Steelers have lost all of their preseason games. Head coach Mike Tomlin told his players, Russell Wilson and Justin Fields, that it was hardly a show to remember. To make matters worse, center Nate Herbig tore his rotator cuff during camp, leaving their offense shorthanded by one man. He may miss the entire 2024 season with the Steelers as a result of this injury.

With the Steelers trying to get back on track for the upcoming season, this fresh injury may force youngster Zach Frazier into a starting position.

Pittsburgh Steelers Lose Starting Center to Significant Injury

Even in the preseason, no team wants to be hurt, but the Steelers, who have had difficulty facing their opponents thus far, may not want injuries more than any other club. Furthermore, it’s one thing to lose in the preseason, but it’s quite another to lose when you’re using two of your best players against the bench group of the opposition.

While Ben DiNucci and Mitch Trubisky alternated at quarterback with Russell Wilson and Justin Fields, the two Steelers were unable to generate any significant offensive momentum during the game.

The Steelers’ opening three offensive series ended with them giving up three sacks. They only managed one first down throughout that time, thus they were unable to move the ball effectively, which compelled Tomlin to respond to Russell Wilson indifferently.

He was a key reserve for the squad the previous season, and they expected him to continue in that capacity this time around. Inquiring about the injuries, Mike Tomlin exercised caution.

When asked about Nate’s injury by the media, the coach responded, “It’s being continuously evaluated.” It appears that he is seeking a second opinion. I wish to hold off on that. I was quite happy with Zach’s effort, and I’ll probably share more details with you guys when we get together again.
