Tyler Glasnow - Los Angeles Dodgers Starting Pitcher - ESPN

Pitcher Tyler Glasnow of the Los Angeles Dodgers was placed on the 15-day injured list on Friday because of tendonitis in his right elbow.

The 31-year-old right-hander has been placed on the disabled list twice this season.


In his debut season with the Dodgers, Glasnow is 9-6 with a 3.49 ERA in 22 starts. In 134 innings, he has recorded a career-high 168 strikeouts while holding opponents to a.190 batting average.

After being traded from Tampa Bay in December of last year, Glasnow was selected to his first All-Star squad in July. He pitched seven innings, gave up two runs on 98 pitches, and did not receive a decision in his final game on Sunday at Pittsburgh.

Left-hander Justin Wrobleski was called up by the Dodgers from Triple-A Oklahoma City to start the game against the St. Louis Cardinals on Friday night.

The Dodgers led Arizona and San Diego by two games in the NL West going into the game.

The Dodgers assigned utilityman Chris Taylor to Oklahoma City for a rehab assignment in other injury news.
