Five football players from Alabama, according to ESPN, might have a significant impact on the 12-team CFB Playoff field.

ESPN has chosen the top 25 players who, according to On3, “will determine the College Football Playoff race during the 2024 season.” While ESPN did not use the phrase “game-changers,” a player who has the power to decide whether or not their team advances to the postseason is unquestionably a game-changer.

Two players from Alabama Football are included on the list; Kobe Prentice is ranked No. 10 and Jalen Milroe is ranked No. 4. The inclusion of Prentice has pleased many Crimson Tide supporters. Prentice caught 31 catches for 337 yards and two touchdowns in 2022 as a rookie. Prentice’s performance in the 2023 season decreased to 18 catches, although he still managed almost as many yards (314) and two touchdowns while playing less.

Supporters of Alabama are aware that Prentice can achieve greater success in 2024. Prentice, Kendrick Law, and Germie Bernard are anticipated to start. There are a lot of speedsters among Alabama’s wide receivers. Despite not being the fastest, Prentice has enough speed to be a consistent starter in the ’24 season.

Nobody is surprised to see Jalen Milroe in ESPN’s Top Ten. Milroe’s significance is modestly evaluated by ESPN, which says, “Milroe could develop further under the offensive-savvy DeBoer.” College football players typically improve from season to season. The Crimson Tide will be firmly entrenched as a national title contender even with a somewhat improved Milroe.
