The Giants’ decision to keep Evan Neal out of training camp is a major setback.

When the season begins, the New York Giants will need every component to function. The linemen are a vital part of the attack led by Daniel Jones, but it appears like Brian Daboll won’t have the luxury of having them all. Although it was anticipated that Evan Neal would soon return from his injury, a significant setback prevented him from taking part in the Giants’ training camp.

At the Giants training camp earlier in the spring, Evan Neal was working on his pass protection technique with Daniel Jones and the rest of the team. But a few weeks before the team’s preseason campaign began, he vanished from sight. How is the Giants tackle doing? Well, the solutions to those are unique to Brian Daboll. He disclosed Neal’s condition and the reason behind his placement on the SNY “physically unable to perform” list.

“He’s just getting well, and when he’s prepared, he can go out there.” He’s not ready, though. He is putting in a lot of effort at work. He’s not quite ready to go, but he’s doing everything he can to get well. And he’ll be prepared when he is,” the Giants general manager said.

Giants supporters are reminded sternly by Brian Daboll while Evan Neal’s recuperation

Evan Neal was able to play 97% of the snap counts for the Daboll’s Giants before he was injured. Despite being limited to playing in only seven games, he still contributed 18 snaps for the special teams unit. If the Giants tackle does make a comeback, he still has a lot of development to make. He had six false starts in the previous two seasons. He made two false starts and a holding call the next year. Although he is far from the ideal lineman to shield Daniel Jones, he gives the Giants a ton of depth.

Brian Daboll: Evan Neal trying everything to get better, but he's not ready - NBC Sports

Daboll pointed out that injury recoveries are never hurried, despite the fact that many Giants supporters want their trenches to be filled right away. Fans who are concerned about Neal were given a rather harsh lesson by the head honcho.

Everyone reacts to situations in a unique way. It’s clear that I’m not a medical professional when it comes to his return. I am aware that he is exerting every effort and acting when he is ready. You give a damn about all of your people, no matter if they are undrafted free agents or top draft selections. We’ll get him out there when he’s ready,” Daboll continued.

Before Neal returns to the rotation, there will be a lengthy procedure. What effect will this have on Giants training camp?
