Terrance Howard, a former walk-on cornerback for Alabama and a member of the Tide’s 2023 squad, passed away on Thursday as a result of injuries he received in a vehicle accident last month.

After playing football for his high school team in Missouri City, Texas, Howard attended Alabama as a freshman walk-on the previous season. He pledged to transfer to North Carolina Central University in May after logging into the transfer portal in April.

His relatives told KPRC-TV that he was involved in a small collision on Interstate 85 in North Carolina late last month while transporting his goods from Tuscaloosa to Durham, North Carolina. Howard was hit by another car when he got out of his car to see how the other car was doing in the collision.

After suffering a brain injury and being put on life support, Howard’s family prayed for his recovery and solicited donations as he spent many days in hospitals. On Thursday, his father claimed that the hospital had mistreated Howard and shared a number of Facebook Live recordings depicting his death in the hospital.
