Breaking: Owner of the NFC says he’s “still happy” He Offered Big Contract to Struggling QB

Daniel Jones: New York Giants 'Absolutely Done' With QB, per Rich Eisen - Sports Illustrated

The New York Giants appeared to be a team that was ready to take the next step and establish themselves as a serious contender in the NFC after a fantastic 2022 NFL season, making the most of quarterback Daniel Jones and star running back Saquon Barkley.

Regretfully for New York, the Giants collapsed during the 2023 season as a result of multiple injuries that kept the squad from playing to its full ability.

New York appears optimistic that it may make a comeback in 2024, even after suffering a poor season in which it was unable to make it back to the NFL playoffs and lost Barkley to the division rival Philadelphia Eagles in the summer.

Still, there doesn’t seem to be much faith that Jones is the best quarterback for the job, therefore the quarterback position appears to be problematic. The Giants reportedly thought about selecting wide receiver Malik Nabers instead of quarterback in the 2024 NFL Draft.

According to Giants Videos, owner John Mara is still apparently happy that they offered Jones a high-paying long-term contract.

Mara remarked, “I’m still glad we gave him that contract.” “Let’s see what he can do by giving him a chance with a better offensive line and some weapons around him.”

Mara is stating this right now, but if Jones doesn’t improve in the 2024 season, he will most likely change his mind. This is especially true since that Jones has a future superstar at wide receiver in Nabers.

This season, Jones needs to deliver or he might be heading out of New York.
