On July 23, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic made the prediction that the Yankees would move Cortes in an effort to acquire a left fielder or starting infielder before the July 30 deadline.

Cortes believes the Yankees can accomplish their goals regardless of the criticism directed at them during a bad run of play. Cortes took to X on July 16 to express his thoughts and express his appreciation for being a Yankee.

“Everyone wants to be us, yet they talk down on the Yankees. Pinstripes are a luxury to wear. We are in contention each year. I’m fortunate to be able to fight for a postseason berth and to always be a contender at the very end,” Cortes posted on X.
