Breaking: After the humiliating Mets sweep, Aaron Boone of the Yankees offers a ferocious NSFW opinion.
The Yankees have recently been playing awful baseball. Aaron Boone is aware that they must take it up.
The Yankees are awful, New York.
Even though Aaron Judge had yet another MVP-caliber season and Juan Soto had an outstanding campaign, the Yankees have lost 17 of their previous 25 games and have significantly cooled off after a scorching start. They’re still very much in the running for the playoffs, but they’ll be eliminated very fast if things don’t improve.
Following the New York Mets’ thrashing of the Yankees on national television, which concluded the Mets’ Subway Series sweep, the Yankees have fallen to new lows. For the Bronx Bombers, all hopes of winning have begun to fade.
Aaron Boone, the manager of the Yankees, hasn’t made many changes to the team’s direction. Jorge Castillo of ESPN reports that he’s at least prepared to acknowledge that they need to perform far better than they have.
“We need to play better, please.” Boone stated through ESPN. It is directly in front of us. We’ve played s—ty lately and are a really excellent squad. We must improve. I will not define this or that stretch. I mean, we have to go win? And that’s where we are. All around us, we’re witnessing other teams suffer. We are aware that we must improve. We’re not happy in there. There, we took great pride. There were high expectations for us. I don’t give a shit about stretch, slump, or recent. We need to play better throughout the remainder of the game.
To salvage the 2024 season, the Yankees need to make a major trade deadline.
For a team with just three batters to worry about, the trade deadline can only provide so much support. To bolster their lineup, the Yankees must make a deal. Other than Judge Soto and the young guys Anthony Volpe and Austin Wells, almost everybody can be persuaded to support an upgrade.
Numerous reports have connected Jazz Chisholm Jr. to New York, but the Yankees appear to be moving away from him for silly reasons. While hitting a home run for Luis Robert Jr. might not be in the cards, adding a player to the outfield like Taylor Ward would be fantastic. The Yanks don’t seem to have the juice to save what’s left of 2024 without some new talent.
Soto needs the Yankees to show him that they are a team worth sticking with. The sensational outfield player will soon be available for free. They need to start moving in the right direction to surround him and Judge with a winning squad in order to prevent the worst-case situation of him departing for nothing.
