ESPN: Denver Broncos Sean Payton is intrigued by new signee’s “football I.Q.”
John Morton, the pass-game coordinator, told Troy Franklin the news on Wednesday.
Morton’s criticism reverberated around the Denver Broncos practice grounds, bouncing over the berm on the west side, even though there were no spectators present for the acclimation practice. And a good deal of it was aimed at the fourth-round selection.
On the most of them, he remains. On the most of them, he stays. Sean Payton, coach of the Broncos, said, “He coaches them hard, he coaches them with love because he sees what they have.” “Today is Troy, but he’s a man of equal opportunity.”
“Scolder?” a reporter asked.
Payton answered, “Yeah, but he’s teaching all the time.” “I enjoy hearing that since I’ve known him for a long time. I believe the players feel the same way, so it’s nice to hear it from a passionate coach. You should start to worry when things go quiet and nobody is speaking to you.
Morton was in the middle of the field where wide receivers caught throws, while wide receivers coach Keary Colbert guided outside.
It’s a lot on the recipients end. It might also be too much for Troy Franklin. However, Payton thinks that quarterback Bo Nix’s past and present target is prepared for whatever is thrown at him in the locker rooms, on the field, and beyond.
“That player makes me feel good about football, and that’s encouraging,” Payton remarked. “He’s still getting stronger.”
He also has size and length at 6-foot-2.
If you truly look across the board, you’ve probably observed that this group is large, according to Payton. That is somewhat recommended. The smaller ones have a distinct set of skills. They quick pause and quicken their pace. [Phillip] Bandy, Michael Dorsett. Some of those players exist, including [Marvin] Mims.
“But, man, I like the size when you start looking at the group as a whole.”
And as the summer goes on, it will be important to keep an eye on Franklin’s development, regardless of whether he is big enough to reach out for an off-target pass or strong enough mentally to accept some voice instruction.
