He was the missing piece, New York Giants set to re-unite with key player.
Last season, the Giants saw how difficult it is to replace a player with Thomas’ caliber of play.
In 2024, the offensive line of the New York Giants must improve upon its performance from the previous season. They need a healthy Andrew Thomas to accomplish that. Whatever transpires, the line should get better if Thomas stays healthy and performs at the level he did as a second-team All-Pro in 2022.
As we continue our player-by-player analysis of the Giants’ 90-man roster, let’s talk about Thomas.

Career thus far
The Giants selected Thomas with the fourth overall choice in the 2020 NFL Draft. He has improved from a terrible rookie campaign to become one of the league’s top left tackles and the Giants’ best offensive lineman.
After recording a 90.3 Pro Football Focus grade, which ranked third among all NFL tackles, and allowing just four sacks and 23 total pressures while earning a 97.9 pass-blocking efficiency score, Thomas was named to the second team of the All-Pro team in 2022.
Thomas played in just 10 games in 2023 due to injuries, many of which were at less than 100%. He played through a knee ailment late in the season after suffering a hamstring injury on a blocked field goal in Week 1.
Before the 2023 season, the Giants granted Thomas a five-year, $117.5 million agreement, with a guaranteed salary of $67 million. That might enable him to play for the team until the 2029 campaign.
2024 projections
This is easy to understand. The Giants offensive line will be significantly better than the 2023 squad if Thomas stays healthy. He plays like one of the top left tackles in the game.
