NFL draft: Vols running back Alvin Kamara selected in third round by New Orleans Saints

It’s no secret that Alvin Kamara, a former running back for the Tennessee Vols, loves NASCAR.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Kamara—who is about to start his seventh season with the New Orleans Saints—became intrigued in NASCAR. He was appointed the first-ever Growth and Engagement Advisor for NASCAR in 2021.

When Kamara attended Kevin Harvick’s Happy Hour earlier this week, he was questioned about his favorite NASCAR drivers.

Three of the former Vol’s favorite drivers include Bubba Wallace, Joey Logano, and Denny Hamlin.

“Clearly, Bubba Wallace,” Kamara remarked. “Denny Hamlin, what a kind guy. I mean, he’s hot stuff. I was more interested in the individuals when I initially arrived than I was in the race.”

“I had a strong affection for Joey Logano because I felt like he was a carefree person,” Kamara continued. “He was simply fighting, saying, ‘It doesn’t matter what car is in front of me, what direction it’s going, and I’m going to win, that’s all.'” Thus, I’ve harbored a small romantic interest in Joey.

I have no doubt that Kamara will be seen at NASCAR events for a very long time to come.
