UNC basketball set to land in a four-star combo guard from……..

This four-star combo guard has been courted by the UNC basketball program, and it now seems he will make an appearance in Chapel Hill.

Derek Dixon, a combo guard in the Class of 2025, received an offer from Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball team on May 21.

Dixon, a resident of Washington, DC, attracted the attention of the Tar Heels, who decided to formally enter the recruiting process. After a month, it seems that both parties are interested in each other.

Colby Giacubeno of Made Hoops reports that Dixon will be in Chapel Hill this autumn.

Particularly in the ACC, North Carolina isn’t the only school interested in Dixon; he also has offers from Iowa, Kansas State, Miami, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Virginia, and Virginia Tech. Given that Dixon has already conducted official visits to Pittsburgh and Virginia as part of his recruiting, the Tar Heels may have some catching up to do in this regard.

Dixon’s visit to North Carolina is undoubtedly encouraging, as the Tar Heels may gain from having him on campus as he approaches graduation. The expected fall visit to Chapel Hill may be the last destination on his recruiting trip before he makes his commitment, even if he hasn’t explicitly stated when he expects to commit.

In such scenario, the UNC basketball team might be in a very good place.

Talk about the UNC basketball team has recently focused on two players who are from the District of Columbia. The top-ranked guard from Washington, DC, Acaden Lewis, and Dixon, the third-ranked player in the area according to 247Sports, appear to be major targets for the Tar Heels.

As of right present, there are no commitments from the Class of 2025 to the UNC basketball program. The Tar Heels would love to have one (or both) of Dixon and Lewis join the program in 2025, so perhaps things will change soon.
