This past February, in their bid to win a sixth Super Bowl victory, Kyle Shanahan and the San Francisco 49ers were narrowly defeated by the Kansas City Chiefs. Over time, the plummeted. In Northern California, it was just another dismal conclusion to an amazing season.

GM John Lynch needs to find a way to add additional depth since the 49ers are facing some serious concerns and the 2024 NFL Draft is quickly approaching. Here is our final mock draft of the 49ers for 2024.

2024 San Francisco 49ers mock draft: major trade, depth

Trade: In exchange for the 17th and 116th picks, the 49ers send Brandon Aiyuk to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Early in the offseason, San Francisco signed Colton McKivitz, their starting right tackle, to a contract extension. Trent Williams is another one of its top left tackles. In Northern California, neither of these players appears to be a long-term solution. Williams is thirty-five years old. McKivitz, meanwhile, gave up an astounding nine sacks in the previous campaign.

During the pre-draft process, Mims and the 49ers have been associated a lot. At the point of contact, the 6-foot-7, 340-pound offensive lineman possesses exceptional strength. He dominates the run game and has a high level of pass protection. He might begin the game at guard before shifting outside to take McKivitz or Williams’ spot.

Xavier Worthy, wide receiver, Texas, first round, 31st overall

Here, we concur with NFL Media’s Daniel Jeremiah. For Brock Purdy, it makes sense for San Francisco to add the quickest player selected in the 2024 draft to an offensive core that already includes Christian McCaffrey, George Kittle, and Deebo Samuel.

Worthy is not a pick for luxury. As previously mentioned, we’re making fun of San Francisco for dealing the gifted Brandon Aiyuk. It would be a goon for the 49ers to get someone to replace him who could provide such outrageous speed and be an instant producer from Day 1.

Second round, 63rd overall: Washington’s Bralen Trice of EDGE

Leonard Floyd, an experienced edge rusher, was signed by the 49ers during NFL free agency. On the open market, they also lost players like Chase Young, Randy Gregory, and Clelin Ferrell. In opposition to Nick Bosa, general manager John Lynch and company still desperately need this. The 49ers need to take a look at it in this year’s draft.

In Round 2, the 260-pound Trice would be a logical choice. In his final two seasons with the Huskies, he totaled 16 sacks and 23.5 tackles for loss. He puts up effort on the edge and is excellent at the point of contact. Bosa and company can definitely work with that going ahead.

Third round, overall: Florida State’s Renardo Green, CB

When it came to addressing the cornerback position during the first few waves of free agency, the 49ers did not take many action. Charvarius Ward is occupying one of the spots. After a standout 2023 campaign, Deommodore Lenoir is expected to be the other outside cornerback. From a depth standpoint, signing veteran Isaac Yiadom is beneficial. However, this lineup is lacking a youthful player.

The 5-foot-11 Green is a versatile player who can be used in the slot or outside. He is adept at playing press man and has excellent outside speed. The 49ers are in need of it in this area. This is also valuable.

Fourth round, 116th overall: Penn State’s Theo Johnson, TE

Observing a pattern here? San Francisco plans to solve areas it neglected to address during free agency by leveraging the 2024 NFL Draft. It’s clear that George Kittle is needed at tight end. After all, a season ago, 49ers tight ends other than Mr. Kittle caught exactly three catches.

Johnson is a fantastic red-zone threat for San Francisco’s Brock Purdy. A season earlier, seven of the 6-foot-6 tight end’s 34 receptions resulted in touchdowns. In fact, in his last two seasons with the Nittany Lions, he caught eleven touchdowns.
