Despite this gifted recruit’s last name, Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball team aren’t letting it deter them from pursuing him.

During the Class of 2025 recruiting cycle, two of the most prominent players have been the Boozer twins, Cameron and Cayden.

Despite their last name, the twins have shown they are among the finest players in the nation, despite the fact that their father is former Duke standout and NBA veteran Carlos Boozer.

As the second-best player in the class, Cameron gets a lot of attention, but Cayden is a five-star prospect, so the recruiting process for him is as competitive. He discussed his current recruiting efforts with Sam Lance of ZagsBlog, mentioning the UNC basketball program as one of the five most active teams.

UNC: “They have many excellent guards.” Elliot Cadeau, RJ Davis, and the other guards are excellent. They produce a lot of wins because their guards perform effectively and assist them in their performance. Thus, in my opinion, it’s a fantastic guard playstyle.

Herbert Davis is a wonderful coach and a pleasant person to chat with. It’s always beneficial to speak with a coach like that, as he’s now among the greatest in college basketball.”

The teams most engaged in his recruitment were the Tar Heels, Miami, Arkansas (where John Calipari took over a few weeks ago), Kentucky (under new head coach Mark Pope), and, of course, Duke. Given that he has already made formal visits to Duke, Miami, Florida, and Kentucky, it’s probable that he will make Chapel Hill his next stop in the coming months.

The possibility that the twins are not a bundle deal is what makes their recruitment intriguing. It’s true that playing together at the next level would be quite alluring, but it doesn’t seem like the two are committed to the same university.

Both guys would be a great addition to the UNC basketball team in Chapel Hill. The Tar Heels would welcome one (or both) to the program if they choose to commit to North Carolina, so this recruiting appears to be personalized.

Why is Hubert Davis traveling to Colorado Springs for Memorial Day Weekend with his staff?

Hubert Davis and his UNC basketball coaching team continue to recruit despite it being Memorial Day Weekend.

This weekend, the Tar Heels coaching staff is anticipated to be in Colorado Springs, as first reported by David Sisk of Tar Heel Illustrated. The trip is intended to provide an overview of the Team USA 18U Training Camp.

Entries for the FIBA Americas U18 championship in Bueno Aires are open to some of the top high school players, who will be competing in this event.

Some of the guys competing have piqued the curiosity of the UNC basketball program. Five student-athletes who will be present have already earned offers from North Carolina as of right now. Among these players are:

Jasper Johnson, five stars
Five-star Wilson Caleb
Star-rated Nate Ament
Star-rated Nikolas Khamenia four
The Malachi Moreno Four Star

In the final week of the open recruiting period, the UNC basketball program extended offers to three of the five prospects (highlighted in bold). The Tar Heels have been actively pursuing both Wilson and Johnson, who have been recruiting targets for a while.

Hubert Davis and his team should definitely go; they may observe not only their present objectives for recruitment, but also get a closer look at some of the other contenders. Who knows? Perhaps one or two players will stick out to the program to the point where it decides to make an offer or start expressing more interest in that particular athlete.

The 12-man roster will be decided by the end of the weekend; we’ll have to wait and see how many of the prospective UNC basketball players make the team.
