Breaking news: Mets and Marlins game at Citi Field has been rescheduled

Due to a prediction of bad weather, Tuesday’s game between the Mets and Marlins at Citi Field has been rescheduled from 7:10 p.m. ET to 4:10 p.m. ET.

The National Weather Service predicts that Tuesday will be extremely cold, with wind chill values between 20 and 25 degrees, even if there won’t be any heavy rain. While the daylight hours should be bright with temperatures in the mid-40s, winds of up to 40 mph are predicted to gust throughout the day.

Despite the cold and rainy weather the Mets have faced throughout their first homestand, there haven’t been any delays or postponements as of yet. The Mets haven’t had outside batting practice since before their home opener on Friday, and players have resorted to donning long-sleeved shirts and facial coverings to remain warm on the field.

Shortstop Francisco Lindor said following what he described as a “uncomfortable” victory against the Blue Jays on Saturday, “It’s cold on the other side of the dugout, too.” “It’s a necessary part of the work.” You will occasionally have excellent days. You will occasionally have unpleasant days.

Parking lots will open at 2:10 p.m., and gates for Tuesday’s game will open at 3:10 p.m.

A voucher for a ticket to any remaining Monday-Thursday home game in April or May will be given to anybody who has a ticket for Tuesday’s game versus the Marlins, subject to availability, as a way of making up for the inconvenience of the late time change. Each attending fan will have access to the digital voucher on Wednesday morning when it has been put into their My Mets Tickets account (which can be accessed by selecting the Vouchers page).
