Breaking News: Ronnie Stanley rejects $60 million contract following…….

Naturally, it was anticipated that the Baltimore Ravens would re-sign starting left tackle Ronnie Stanley before the NFL free agency on March 12 ever came around, at which point the vultures may have begun to make bids. In fact, the Ravens front management expressed confidence that a contract would be reached with its star lineman during last week’s NFL Scouting Combine. From Indianapolis, it was believed that the Ravens could complete this project for as little as $20 million annually. And now, on Saturday, we have apparently reached a $60 million three-year arrangement.
For the Ravens, who must maintain their line in order to protect Lamar Jackson and provide room for Derrick Henry in the future seasons, Stanley is a key retain. A lot of money will be thrown at Stanley by other teams. The Patriots, who have the most cap space of any club, were reportedly intrigued, according to ESPN’s Mike Reiss.
“At the NFL scouting combine, one rival NFL executive said some of the buzz going around was that the Patriots would aggressively pursue veteran Baltimore Ravens left tackle Ronnie Stanley should he make it to unrestricted free agency,” Reiss stated. The 30-year-old Stanley was also on the Kansas City Chiefs’ want list. And it would have been a double punch of damage for Stanley to move to a competitor who is like Baltimore, a Super Bowl candidate coming out of the AFC. However, the Ravens have blocked every potential player. Now, Stanley is back to block Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson.
