Sean Payton stated, “I got to go with DeMeco (Ryans) still,” selecting Ryans over his former Saints tight ends coach. “He was just with me earlier today. I’ve known Dan long enough to understand that there’s a chance of getting hurt. When we picked him, I was with him in New York. I’ve been by his side the entire time.
