Top 100 Yankees: No. 45 Roger Clemens - Pinstripe Alley

A Yankees legend is returning.

During his career, which includes stints with the Boston Red Sox, Toronto Blue Jays, and Houston Astros, former New York Yankees pitcher Roger Clemens amassed over 350 wins, 4,600 strikeouts, and seven Cy Young trophies, making him one of the game’s greatest pitchers at his position.

In addition, he assisted the Yankees in winning the World Series in 1999 and 2000. He last donned the Yankees’ recognizable pinstripes in 2007. However, at the age of sixty-two, he is returning to the organization, this time to serve as a guest coach with the pitching staff of the current squad.

According to MLB.com, Clemens received the offer directly from Yankees manager Aaron Boone, who was once a teammate of his in New York and is excited to have him rejoin the organization.

Boone declared, “He’s one of my favorite teammates ever.” “I remember being a little nervous when I was traded over here [in 2003], thinking, ‘What’s this Rocket about?'” All that, knocking batters down. What a fantastic colleague. I believe he has a great deal to offer and a strong desire to do so. And I am aware that many of our soldiers are looking forward to seeing him.

Several well-known former Yankees players, including C.C. Sabathia, Jorge Posada, Alfonso Soriano, and Joe Torre, have been invited to Spring Training, including Clemens.

Regarding the famous guest list, Boone stated, “I’m trying to get more people involved.” “I think it’s fantastic.”

The Yankees will play the Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday after defeating the Tampa Bay Rays 4-0 on Friday in Spring Training action.

Roger Clemens, a former pitcher with the Yankees, is not yet a member of the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Despite winning more than 350 games during his career and receiving several Cy Young trophies, Clemens has not been admitted into the Baseball Hall of Fame because he has not yet received the 75 percent of votes required for entry.

His inclusion in the Mitchell Report has also linked him to steroid use; according to his former trainer, he gave Clemens steroids and human growth hormone injections between 1998 and 2001, even though he never tested positive for either drug.
