Breaking news: After Aaron Boone’s contract extention, the New York yankees cut ties with $37 million favorite pitcher.
After the devastating departure of superstar Juan Soto in free agency, the New York Yankees have had a rather successful summer. Many outstanding players have been added, which is leaving some rostered players unemployed as the 2025 season approaches. Pitcher Marcus Stroman is one player whose future in the Bronx is uncertain.
FanSided’s Joseph Kallan recently forecast that the Yankees will fire Stroman before to the expiration of manager Aaron Boone’s recently inked contract deal. “Stroman might seem like the most obvious choice here, as there’s no guarantee he’ll even pitch in a Yankees uniform by the time the 2025 season begins,” Kallan stated. “Boone and the Yankees’ coaching staff have not yet completely embraced the veteran right-hander’s statement that he wants to stay in the starting rotation.
Stroman’s future in pinstripes is still up in the air because spring training is one of his final opportunities to establish himself as a consistent starter. Don’t be shocked if his name appears in trade rumors sooner rather than later if circumstances don’t work out.” Stroman no longer has a place in the Bronx.
He was a healthy scratch from the World Series squad the previous season. The Yankees have now replaced Stroman at the top of their rotation with left-handed pitcher Max Fried. In addition, they have a few additional possibilities to replace their $37 million righty, like Brock Selvidge and Will Warren. After spring training, it’s difficult to see Stroman making the squad. Apparently, New York will cut him or trade him as quickly as possible.
