Breaking News: Buffalo Bills offensive tackle announces retirement at just 26 years old.

Due to injuries, Doyle’s career was cut short.

According to a social media post by Due Champions, Tommy Doyle, an offensive tackle for the Buffalo Bills, has made the decision to retire following a difficult string of injuries. Later this week, an official announcement is anticipated.

The decision to retire likely comes after Doyle sustained season-ending injuries in back-to-back seasons. Doyle says goodbye to the NFL at just 26 years old. Drafted by the Bills in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL draft, expectations were high for Doyle. At 6’8” and 320 pounds, the offensive lineman came into the league as an intriguing prospect. Early in his career, however, the flashes of potential were often marred by his inability to stay healthy.

Regretfully, Doyle’s ailment began in 2022 when he tore his right ACL against the Miami Dolphins’ Week 3 defeat. He recovered for the 2023 season, but in a preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, he suffered a terrible injury to his left leg.

It was later discovered that Doyle had sustained “foot drop,” an ACL tear, and an LCL injury. Due to his preseason injury, Doyle was placed on the PUP/Reserve list for the 2024 season.

Doyle has obviously made the decision to prioritize his well-being and recuperation. It’s critical that he take a step back and concentrate on his long-term goals after many seasons marred by injury.

Our favorite memory of Tommy Doyle as he leaves the field will be from his first year, when he grabbed a touchdown pass from quarterback Josh Allen in a victory over the New England Patriots on Super Wild Card Weekend. Big-man TDs are adored by the Bills Mafia!
