Can't wait to rock that dodger blue 💙

Enjoying its position on the throne is Los Angeles.

In free agency, the Los Angeles Dodgers are still outperforming the competition. The Dodgers agreed new contracts with Blake Snell, Tanner Scott, Roki Sasaki, and Kirby Yates a year after they signed Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and Teoscar Hernandez on their way to a guaranteed salary of over $1 billion in free agency. They also re-signed Hernandez for good measure.

Snell’s choice to reject other candidates for the Dodgers juggernaut caused quite a commotion, and he was one of the first big pieces off the board this offseason. Snell has spent time with the San Francisco Giants and the San Diego Padres, among other teams in the NL West. However, Snell is effectively giving up the dignity of an underdog in an attempt to stack career accomplishments by agreeing to a five-year, $182 million contract with a sizable amount of deferred money from the Dodgers.

Blake Snell And The Dodgers Are Perfect Fits For Each Other

There is little more that Snell can do on his own. He’s an All-Star and two-time Cy Young winner, and when he’s playing at his best, he has some of the sharpest stuff you’ll find. Although Snell’s health has been an issue each year, he is undoubtedly MLB’s finest. The hard-throwing southpaw had a 3.12 ERA and 145 strikeouts in 104.0 innings at the end of the previous season. After July, he had 10 starts with an ERA of 1.44.

Los Angeles intends to make fun of everyone, but particularly Snell’s old team, after the Dodgers are happy to have him join baseball’s deepest rotation.

The Dodgers will use Blake Snell’s bobblehead night to mock the Padres into oblivion.
It will be Blake Snell’s bobblehead night on June 16 when the Dodgers play the Padres. Is it a coincidence? Obviously not. as spending three seasons in San Diego and a few memorable games against Los Angeles, Snell ended up spending his gap year in San Francisco as the Padres refused to pay him. Bob Melvin, the former Padres captain, was his Giants manager.

Snell is now staying in LA for the long haul.

In a fierce NLCS a few months ago, the Dodgers eliminated San Diego from the postseason. That was arguably the most difficult opponent LA had to overcome in order to win the World Series. After their explosive offense disappeared late in the series, leaving San Diego’s pitching staff vulnerable, the Padres are likely wishing they had kept Snell on board.

If we have to be honest, San Diego was a stronger club overall than the AL-champion New York Yankees. Aaron Judge and Juan Soto, two all-time greats, were the Yankees’ mainstays, but the rest of the team was far from brilliant. That squad was hardly prepared to pose a serious threat to the Dodgers, especially considering Judge’s well-documented playoff problems.

In addition to dancing on the Padres’ grave, the Dodgers will have another opportunity to make fun of the Yankees for good measure. Fans will receive replicas of the World Series trophy from LA on June 17, the evening after Snell’s bobbleheads fill the stadium. As a result, the Padres may enjoy the bitter taste of their loss. The Yankees, on the other hand, aren’t even honored with miniature World Series trophies being presented to them.
