Breaking news: Detroit Lions WR finds a new home with the Chicago Bears.
Aaron Wilson reported that Maurice Alexander, a former wide receiver and return specialist with the Detroit Lions, has signed a reserve/futures contract with the Chicago Bears.
The 28-year-old Alexander joined the Lions in October 2022 and has played a limited part throughout his time there. Alexander has made seven appearances with the Lions in his career, catching one pass for seven yards. As a return man, he was the team’s main contributor.
The Time of Maurice Alexander in Detroit
Maurice Alexander returned four punts for 42 yards in 2024 after returning six kickoffs for 146 yards in 2022. Alexander’s skills as a special teams player have made him a valued asset despite his low receiving stats, and the Bears have added him to their roster in an effort to increase depth.
Alexander now has a new opportunity as he joins the Bears’ roster in anticipation of the 2025 campaign.
