Cowboys confident new DC Micah Parsons will “get the most” from Matt Eberflus, according to Sports Illustrated’s Matt Galatzan.
Micah Parsons appears to benefit from Matt Eberflus’ return to Dallas.
Micah Parsons, a defensive end for the Dallas Cowboys, is among the NFL’s most dangerous and adaptable athletes.
Parsons has actually been on a historic run since being selected by Dallas in 2021, with 52.5 sacks in four seasons, four Pro Bowl selections, and three All-Pro selections. He excelled under Mike Zimmer this past season and three of those seasons were spent under former defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, who is currently the head coach of the Washington Commanders. The Cowboys will be adding a new defensive coordinator for the third consecutive season on Monday when they hire Matt Eberflus, and they are sure Parsons will remain a formidable force under his new playcaller.
Since Parsons is such a game-wrecker when he’s rolling, everyone has a different view of how versatile he is and how to move him about. placing him in advantageous matchup scenarios [when] everyone will be attempting to double or triple,” Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones stated during the Senior Bowl. It can be beneficial for all members of the defense if you can shift him about and not be certain of his location. … We have no doubt that [Eberflus] will make the most of him and use him.
