ESPN: The Mets are close to adding Yankee’s veteran pitcher

Another player may depart the Bronx for the Queens, according to the New York Yankees.

Insider Tim Healey claims that veteran reliever Tim Hill is being connected to the New York Mets, after the Yankees previously lost Juan Soto and Clay Holmes to the Mets in free agency.

“Mets relief bit: According to a source, they have recently shown interest in lefthander Tim Hill. After joining the Yankees the previous season, Hill posted a 2.05 ERA in 35 games (plus a 1.08 ERA in 10 postseason games). Since joining the MLB in 2018, Hill has made 382 appearances. He has a 3.99 ERA and a 20-14 record. The left-hander posted a 1.08 ERA in 8.1 innings during the Yankees’ postseason run, turning into a set-up guy in the closing innings.

In 2024, the 34-year-old reliever agreed to a $740,000 contract.

Yankees Should Bring Back Hill Hill was a key reliever for the Yankees, and MLB expert Adam Weinrib thinks New York should bring him back.

Weinrib adds Brian Cashman has to prevent his competition from stealing another talent from them since the Mets are interested in Hill.
