ESPN: The Lions Controversial Safety Send a Brutal Response to Pro Bowl Snub With a 6-Word Message.
In the midst of a tornado of controversy surrounding safety Kerby Joseph, the Detroit Lions are getting ready for their biggest game of the season against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday night at Ford Field. Joseph, a rising NFL star and former Illinois Fighting Illini star, leads the league with nine interceptions this season and has gotten better every week for defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn’s squad. Joseph expressed his feelings over being left off of the freshly revealed Pro Bowl rosters with a six-word statement on Thursday.
Joseph said that he places a higher emphasis on the All-Pro team, referring to it as the “real recognition.” “I’m not really worried about it, you know what I’m saying,” said Joseph, “because I’m focused on the Super Bowl, I wasn’t going to go to the Pro Bowl no way.”
Following two crucial interceptions against the 49ers on Monday night, Joseph now has nine for the season. As the Lions prepare to play Sam Darnold and the Vikings in their last game, he is now two interceptions ahead of the second-place NFL interception leader, Xavier McKinney of the Green Bay Packers.
The game, which will decide the NFC North winner on Sunday Night Football, has Detroit as a 2.5 favorite.
